The Niagara Peninsula is dotted with many charming small towns
and Jordan, on the banks of Twenty Mile Creek, is no exception.
An hour from Toronto, the area is home to dozens of wineries.
Breathtaking scenery, lush vineyards and exceptional wine-country
cuisine guarantee hours of wonderful distractions.

If you are in the area in the spring, possibly heading
to or from Niagara stop by Ball's Falls. However you will
be in for a big disappointment if you stop by later in
the summer when the water is low.

Take a leisurely hike or short drive to the Ball's Falls
Heritage Conservation Area which encompasses over 200 acres
of scenic natural and built heritage, including two spectacular
cataracts on the Niagara Escarpment and the traces of a mid
19th century industrial hamlet. This was one of the first
communities along the lower Twenty Mile Creek; a grist mill,
lime kiln, a restored church, log cabin and a family home
are some of the structures that are open for guided tours.
The historic Vintage House was built around 1840 and was
a family home to a number of Jordan’s earliest families.
It was owned afterward by the original Jordan Winery and
served as a seasonal home for workers during harvest...
hence the local name of the Vintage House. For some years,
the property was a local museum. During these various
incarnations, the wonderfully balanced "bones"
of the house have survived in all of their Georgian taste
and simplicity. The historic house provides two rooms
with a shared den and lovely suite with airtub and fireplace.
An enhanced continental breakfast is served at On the
Twenty Restaurant which is right across the street. The
gardens of the Vintage House are lovely and include a
gazebo and a huge old plane tree: during common area hours,
they are open to all guests for relaxation and conversation.A
full-service spa is opening in the rear of the historic
brick structure in May of 2003: facials, manicure, pedicure,
massage and hydrotherapy body treatments will be offered.
